Uno-X Mobility Cycling expands partnership with the Norwegian Cycling Federation
There has always been a strong focus on youth development at Uno-X Mobility Cycling, and this new partnership with the Norwegian Cycling Federation is another step in that direction.

As a Norwegian-Danish WorldTour team, we want to help make it possible for the federation to send Norwegian junior national teams to races abroad — especially the UCI Nations Cup. The agreement with Norwegian Cycling Federation (NCF) that supports this is initially for one year, with a shared ambition to continue beyond that.
Uno-X Mobility Cycling wants to help the NCF lower the threshold for giving junior riders valuable international experience and the chance to measure themselves against the very best in their age group. That matters, not only for the riders themselves, but for the long-term development of Norwegian cycling.
The head coach of Norway’s junior men’s national team, Kai Lexberg, underlines the importance of the agreement — both in terms of financial support and the opportunity to gain experience from the WorldTour level:
“This partnership between Uno-X and the junior men’s national team ensures that we can continue developing young male cyclists in Norway. I would say it allows us to offer one of the world’s best programs for a junior national team. Without this financial support, we would not be able to attend all the national team races, the Nations Cup, the European Championships or the World Championships. Now our juniors get to compete at the highest level, and at the same time we get to learn from a WorldTour team,” Lexberg says.
This is not the first partnership for Uno-X Mobility Cycling, as we already have several collaborations built around young riders in Denmark. The danes has a longer and more developed tradition for talent development in cycling, which is why we have partnerships with two development teams there instead of the Danish Cycling Federation. On the men’s side, we work with Carl Ras Roskilde Junior, which currently consists only of young Danish riders. On the women’s side, we work with Airtox Carl Ras Junior Women, which develops riders from different nations and currently has two promising Norwegian riders on the team.

These kinds of partnerships create more opportunities, more structure and more motivation for young cyclists, on both the men’s and women’s side. They help give talented riders a clearer pathway, and they make it easier for more of them to see that a future in the sport is possible.
Uno-X Mobility Cyclings general manager, Thor Hushovd.
“For our team, it is very important to help build depth and strengthen recruitment in Scandinavia. To do that, we aim to use our resources for the development of young riders in the right way. We have chosen a slightly different strategy for recruitment and development than many other teams, including through this partnership with the Norwegian Cycling Federation,” Thor Hushovd says.
He adds:
“A small number of riders may have the level required to move directly into the pro team, but those will be few. We believe it is important to have Norwegian and Danish junior national teams that compete, while also seeing riders develop on continental teams before becoming candidates for our squad. We take it seriously that there are fewer and fewer development teams in Scandinavia, and we want to contribute where we can so that cycling can develop in the right direction over many years to come. Of course, a development team may become relevant again for us in the future, but it is not part of our plans in the near term.”
Uno-X Mobility Cycling strongly believes in all the partnerships we have entered into, and we see the Norwegian national team as the most important development arena for Norwegian junior riders. That is why we want to contribute to the Norwegian Cycling Federation.
In addition to these partnerships, Uno-X Mobility Norge is also the naming sponsor of the Norwegian Cup for elite and junior men and women, helping provide greater predictability for organizers of Norwegian road races. Strong domestic races are important for the sport, and it is valuable for Norwegian riders to have good opportunities to race at home as they continue their development.
For years, Uno-X Mobility Cycling has supported grassroots initiatives and rider development in both Norway and Denmark — alongside the professional teams. That long-term way of thinking remains central to who we are and to how we want to help shape the future of Scandinavian cycling.
At Uno-X Mobility, we know that building riders takes time. We want to keep helping Norwegian and Danish talents take the next step — and, over time, give more of them the chance to reach WorldTour level. That is how we believe strong teams are built: step by step, together.
