UNO‑X Mobility Cycling is pleased to announce the signing of Norwegian rider Svein Erik Bystrøm, who will join the team on a two-year deal from 2026 through 2027.

Sven Erik Bystrøm brings over a decade of experience at the highest level of the sport, having raced for some of the world’s biggest teams — including Team Katusha, UAE Team Emirates, Intermarché–Wanty, and most recently, Groupama–FDJ. A former U23 World Champion, he has competed in eight Grand Tours and built a reputation as a dependable teammate across all terrains.

General Manager Thor Hushovd believes Bystrøm will play a key role as a steadying presence and on-road leader in the coming seasons.

“Sven Erik is a strong and versatile rider who fits into most race scenarios. We see him as a classic road captain — someone who will bring 13 years of experience into a young UNO‑X squad. He’s smart, consistent, and knows exactly what it takes to perform at the top.”

Bystrøm’s tactical insight, calm under pressure, and deep racing knowledge make him an ideal figure to help guide the next generation.

“His experience will be a huge asset for our younger riders. Having someone like Sven Erik in the team gives them a clear benchmark — someone who knows what it takes to deliver at the highest level, both on and off the bike.”

Bystrøm himself is looking forward to the next chapter:

“It’s not an understatement that I'm very much looking forward to joining Uno-X for the next two years. It feels like coming home, since I'm familiar with most of the riders and staff.”

The 33-year-old from Haugesund has been part of the professional peloton since 2014. While he adds valuable experience to a relatively young team, the move is just as much about personal growth.

“I’ve been very impressed by the progress the team has made, and it feels like the best step for my career to develop further. I might have some experience to add to the team, but most importantly I believe I can learn a lot from being part of this environment and still improve as a rider.”

With his arrival, UNO‑X Mobility continues to strengthen its core while staying true to its mission: building a competitive, Scandinavian team step by step — with the right mix of youth and experience.
