After a landmark 2025 season that culminated in promotion to the UCI WorldTour, Uno-X Mobility Cycling Men’s Side is setting the stage for its next chapter.
That’s why we’re pleased to announce that two new Sports Directors will be joining the men’s side from the 2026 season: Michael Blaudzun and Asbjørn Kragh Andersen.
“We wanted Michael to give us the extra depth in the Grand Tours, but also the week-long stage races we haven’t done before,” says Gabriel Rasch, Head of Sports | Men.
“He has the experience as a rider and also from all aspects of running his own team in the past.”“Asbjørn will give us a closer connection with the current generation, having raced with many of them himself,” he adds.
“He is unique in the DS world, being younger due his early retirement as a pro himself. Asbjørn will give us the extra depth into races, especially the Classics, where his toughness combines with smartness.”

Michael Blaudzun: “I missed the game and this project felt right.”
With a long and respected career as a professional rider in some of the sport’s biggest teams, Michael Blaudzun brings a wealth of top-level experience to Uno-X Mobility. After retiring from racing, he transitioned to team management, most recently serving as sports director at the Danish team Riwal, where he remained until the end of the 2020 season.
“I grew up in cycling — and stepping away from it back then wasn’t because I’d lost the passion,” says Blaudzun.
“I’ve followed Uno-X closely over the years, even back when we were rivals at Rival. I could see the potential early, and it’s been fantastic to watch the development. When the talks about this opportunity, I had no doubt. I’ve missed the game — and especially with a project like this.”
For Blaudzun, the Scandinavian identity of the team was also a major draw.
“The Nordic setup suits me. There’s something special about the shared culture, the mentality, the humor. It creates unity. You feel it — people are pulling in the same direction, and that’s a powerful foundation to build on.”
He’s fully aware of the level the team is stepping into:
“There’s a lot of potential still to unlock in this team — and a lot of top-level races coming our way. It won’t be easy. But I can already sense the positivity and ambition inside the team. That’s what I’m most excited to contribute to.”
Asbjørn Kragh Andersen: “It already feels like a family — and that makes a difference.”
Asbjørn Kragh Andersen ended his professional cycling career in 2022, riding for Team Picnic PostNL. After a brief time away from the sport, he returned to the same team as a sports director throughout the 2024 and 2025 season.

“What really attracted me to Uno-X was watching how they’ve grown,” he says.
“They started with almost nothing — and just step by step, built this really controlled, steady development. That really appealed to me.”
After initially declining an offer to move straight into a DS role post-retirement, Asbjørn quickly felt the pull back toward the sport.
“I felt like I was throwing away everything I’d built — all those years of insight and experience. I knew I wanted to use it. And once I got started, I just loved working with people again — trying to get the most out of what we have, day by day.”
His close connection to the current generation of riders brings a new dynamic to the DS group.
“Of course, being close in age to the riders makes a difference. I’ve raced with some of them. I know how they tick. That shared experience is something I hope we can use — not just on the tactical side, but in the human side of the sport.”
Andersen has already had a first taste of the Uno-X Mobility environment during the recent kick-off weekend, where he met the full team and staff. That experience left a clear impression.
“It already feels like a family,” he says.
“The Scandinavian mentality — that shared background and way of thinking — it creates something special. I felt that immediately at the kick-off. This is something different.”

Our 2026 ambitions
The arrival of Blaudzun and Kragh Andersen comes as the men’s team enters its most demanding and ambitious season yet — taking part in all three Grand Tours for the first time, while continuing to build on its momentum from the Classics and stage races.
“It’s a big step for us to do three Grand Tours, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t ambitious,” says Gabriel Rasch, Head of Sports | Men.
“It’s always important for us to race as a unit with a common goal each day.”
The team’s goals for 2026 aren’t defined by any one result — but by collective progress across riders, staff, and support systems. The focus remains on unlocking potential, nurturing the core group, and building long-term momentum in the biggest races.
“We’ve made some very interesting signings for next year,” Rasch continues.
“And we can’t wait to get their full potential out. It’s important to us to keep developing our core, and we believe we’re taking the right steps to help our riders follow their dreams.”
Among the natural goals for the season:
Continued progress in the Classics, where the team has already made important strides
A stronger presence in the Ardennes, where there’s still more to give
Aiming for a top-10 in the Giro with Johannes Kulset, as part of his long-term growth
Getting closer to the Tour de France podium with Tobias Halland Johannessen
And, more broadly, winning stages across the three Grand Tours — and racing with purpose, every time we line up
“We know it’s going to be a big challenge with even more WorldTour races,” says Rasch.
“But with the strong group of coaches and performance staff we have around our riders, we believe we can support them to achieve their dreams and goals — together.”
2026 marks a new chapter for the Uno-X Mobility men’s team — and we’re ready to take it on, together.
