Uno-X Mobility Cycling has signed a Development Agreement with 16-year-old Kristian Haugetun, one of Norway’s most exciting young riders. The agreement underlines Uno-X Mobility’s commitment to supporting Norwegian and Danish talent from the earliest stages – helping them develop towards the international stage.
Haugetun, born in October 2008, is from Bergen and represents Åsane CK. He is in his second year at Norges Toppidrettsgymnas in Bærum, combining school with his sporting ambitions. He has already impressed in international junior racing, most recently with a stage win at the Giro della Lunigiana in Italy – one of the most prestigious races in the junior calendar. He has also shown his climbing talent in other Nations Cup races this season and is beginning to mark himself as one of the most promising juniors in Europe.

Through the agreement, Haugetun will get support to continue his international development in the coming years. The aim is to give him the best possible opportunities to grow, preparing him step by step for the next level.
“Kristian is exactly the type of talent we want to foster. He’s ambitious, confident, and already showing qualities that can take him far in the sport. The idea is not to rush him into the pro ranks, but to let him grow with the right support and opportunities, step by step. This agreement reflects our long-term belief in the pipeline from junior level towards the highest level of the sport,” says Thor Hushovd, General Manager of Uno-X Mobility Cycling AS.
For Haugetun, the ambition is crystal clear:
“The big dream is to win the Tour de France overall. As simple – and as difficult – as that. But you have to dare to dream.”
That ambition is also what led him to Uno-X Mobility. Even at just 16, he had already caught the attention of some of the biggest teams in world cycling – but is now choosing to commit his future to the Scandinavian project.
“I’m here because Uno-X Mobility has shown that they can develop Norwegian riders. It’s a mix of a safe and highly ambitious environment, which makes me believe I can reach my best potential.”
For the Bergen native, team spirit and values were important in his choice of team:
“I feel like here you ride a bit for your country, and you share something with the Scandinavian values around the team. That means a lot to me, and I think it makes us more willing to work together and do that little extra for each other and for the team to succeed.”

Haugetun’s talent was on display again last week at the Giro della Lunigiana, where he claimed his first UCI victory of the season and secured the polka-dot KOM jersey. A crash on the final day cost him an even better overall result.

“It was my first UCI win this year, and of course it felt amazing to perform in such a prestigious race. And it was on the new Ridley bike – which shows how fast it is. That gives me a lot of confidence going forward.”
Cycling has now fully taken over, but Haugetun’s sporting background is broader. He has also enjoyed a promising career in triathlon, but has now decided to focus fully on two wheels:
“Cycling just has more action – and it’s genuinely what I enjoy most. The fact that you race as a team, and that you constantly have to combine the mental, the tactical, and the physical side, makes it incredibly exciting.”
The spark that set him on this path came in 2017, when the UCI Road World Championships were held in his hometown of Bergen:
“That’s when I truly realised cycling is a huge sport – and how amazing it would be to experience something like that myself.”
Through this agreement, Kristian becomes part of the Uno-X Mobility family – and the team looks forward to supporting his development in the coming years, preparing him for the next step in red and yellow.
