One of Denmark’s biggest cycling stars is heading to Uno-X Mobility Cycling. Tour de France Femmes stage winner and World Championship medallist Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig has signed a two-year contract, joining the Norwegian-Danish team from 2027.

With 18 professional victories, a World Championship bronze medal and years of experience at the very highest level, the 31-year-old Dane is one of the most accomplished riders to join Uno-X Mobility Cycling.

But this signing is about more than an impressive list of results. For Ludwig, it is also an opportunity for a fresh start, a return to her Scandinavian roots and the chance to rediscover her best form.

“I am incredibly excited to put on the Uno-X jersey. In a way, it feels like coming home to my Scandinavian roots,” Ludwig says.

“The last couple of years have been difficult in many ways, so it means a lot to me to step into an environment where I feel a sense of calm and a real belief in what we can achieve. Uno-X seems incredibly professional in everything they do, and that gives me the confidence to find myself again and build towards my highest level.”

A proven winner on the biggest stage

Ludwig has been one of the leading names in Danish women’s cycling for more than a decade.

Her breakthrough performances developed into an impressive international career, highlighted by an unforgettable stage victory at the 2022 Tour de France Femmes, where she beat Marianne Vos in the uphill finish in Épernay.

She has also won the Tour of Scandinavia, claimed two victories at Giro dell’Emilia, won a stage at the Santos Tour Down Under and taken the Danish national road title. In 2023, she secured bronze at the World Championships in Glasgow.

Beyond her victories, Ludwig has established herself as a consistent contender in the biggest races on the calendar, with podium finishes at Strade Bianche and La Flèche Wallonne among her achievements.

For Head of Sports Anna Badegruber, signing a rider of Ludwig’s calibre is an exciting addition to the team.

“I am really excited to have Cecilie on board. She is hugely experienced and has shown time after time that she is a rider who is willing to go all in to win races,” Badegruber says.

“She has the drive, motivation and dedication to become the best version of herself, and her work ethic aligns really well with Uno-X.”

Experience, punch and fighting spirit

After several challenging seasons, Ludwig is determined to find her way back to the level that has made her one of the most recognisable riders in the women's peloton.

Her climbing ability, explosive acceleration and attacking style make her a natural fit for the way Uno-X wants to race.

“She is a great climber with a good punch and a real fighting spirit, and she will strengthen our team,” Badegruber says.

“We really believe we can take the next step together and race for great results. We are very excited to see what the next years with Cecilie will bring.”

For Ludwig, the team's identity and approach to racing were important factors in her decision.

“You can sense that Uno-X has built a really unique team spirit, and I am looking forward to becoming part of that,” she says.

“I love the way Uno-X races — with a huge heart and plenty of courage. It feels like the right match, and I can hardly wait to get started, race with the girls and begin the next chapter.”

With her experience, personality and unmistakable fighting spirit, Ludwig brings another dimension to Uno-X Mobility Cycling as the team continues to build for the years ahead.

And for one of Denmark’s biggest cycling profiles, the next chapter begins a little closer to home.

Welcome to Uno-X, Cecilie! We can't wait to get started together! 💛❤️
