Emma Johansson will support Uno-X Mobility’s development work with young riders in a new role as team mentor, starting this spring.

Uno-X Mobility Cycling is proud to announce that one of Scandinavia’s most accomplished riders, and current board member, Emma Johansson, will take on a key role as mentor for the team’s young talents. In addition to supporting the development of upcoming riders, she will play a key part in shaping the future of women’s cycling in both Norway and Denmark, and will contribute to recruitment efforts in collaboration with the Norwegian Cycling Federation (NCF) and Team Rytger – with a special focus on helping young female cyclists across Scandinavia.

Emma Johansson has served on the board of Uno-X Mobility Cycling since early 2024. This new role marks a natural continuation of her involvement with the team – moving from strategic influence to more hands-on development work with riders on the ground. She is starting her work with Uno-X Mobility this month, with an active presence at races and gatherings throughout the season.

A former world number one and Olympic medalist from Sweden, Johansson brings world-class experience to the Uno-X Mobility family. She won silver medals at both the 2008 and 2016 Olympic Games, claimed three World Championship medals, and holds a record four podium finishes at the Tour of Flanders. Among her victories, her win at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad stands out as one of the most prestigious.

“We’re thrilled to have Emma even closer to the team,” says Thor Hushovd, General Manager of Uno-X Mobility Cycling. “She has seen it all at the highest level and knows what it takes to succeed. Emma is a fantastic communicator, a natural motivator, and she has an incredible ability to spot raw talent. If we’re going to keep growing as a team – and play a bigger role in shaping Scandinavian cycling – we need people like Emma on board. We’re lucky to have her.”

For Johansson, the motivation is clear:

“I’m truly excited to take on this new role. Uno-X has a clear vision and real dedication to developing both riders and the sport itself. I feel I have a lot to contribute – both from my own journey as a rider and from everything I’ve learned since I retired,” says Johansson. “I’m especially looking forward to spending more time out with the women’s team and supporting junior riders at races with Team Rytger and through NCF.”

Johansson’s appointment is part of Uno-X Mobility’s ongoing commitment to talent development and long-term impact in cycling. Her voice and perspective will be instrumental in strengthening opportunities for young riders, especially girls, to thrive and progress in the sport.
