Danish time trial champion Kristian Egholm joins Uno-X Mobility

The 22-year-old Dane joins from Lidl-Trek Future Racing on a three-year contract through the 2029 season.
Kristian Egholm will join Uno-X Mobility Cycling in 2027, bringing a Danish national champion’s jersey, a powerful engine and plenty of potential to the team.
After three seasons with Lidl-Trek Future Racing, the 22-year-old is ready to take the next step in his career with a team that feels close to home.
“Three very memorable years with Lidl-Trek Future Racing are coming to an end, and three new years at the highest level are ahead of me. Taking that step with a Danish-Norwegian team is really special,” Egholm says.

A breakthrough against the clock
Egholm made a serious impression at the Danish national championships in June, winning the elite individual time trial in Herning.
Over the 29.2-kilometre course, he edged Mikkel Bjerg by just 0.38 seconds, with Kasper Asgreen and Mads Pedersen also among the riders he left behind.
It was the first professional victory of his career and a clear indication that the young Dane is ready to compete against established riders at the highest level.
“Winning the Danish title gave me extra confidence that I belonged at one of the fastest-developing teams in the WorldTour. The time trial will naturally become a bigger focus for me now, and I know I will be in good hands at Uno-X,” he says.
“At the same time, I will be able to develop with some very competent people in every part of my road racing. That was an important reason for choosing the team.”
More than a time trial specialist
Originally from Holbæk, Egholm came through NPV-Carl Ras Roskilde Junior before moving to Restaurant Suri - Carl Ras in 2023. He joined Lidl-Trek Future Racing the following season.
His talent was already evident as a junior, when he won the Danish national time trial title and finished fourth at Paris-Roubaix Juniors in 2022.
In 2024, he won the opening stage of the Orlen Nations Grand Prix and claimed the mountains classification at the Tour of Denmark, underlining that his qualities extend beyond the time trial bike. This season, he has gained further experience racing with Lidl-Trek’s WorldTour team at events including Nokere Koerse, the AlUla Tour and the Tour de Hongrie.
Egholm is not setting a specific victory as his first target, but believes his ability against the clock could eventually open other opportunities.
“I don’t have one particular race that I dream of winning. But if I had to point towards something, I think there could be opportunities for me in shorter stage races,” he says.
“We have seen strong time trialists go a long way in the general classification after producing a good time trial. That is something I would like to explore.”
Belief before the breakthrough
By the time Egholm won the Danish title in Herning, his move to Uno-X Mobility had already been agreed.
“It means a lot that the team saw potential in my profile before I became Danish champion. For me, that was a real vote of confidence,” Egholm says.
“We did not sign Kristian because he became Danish champion. We had already decided that we wanted him, and the victory simply underlined what we believed was there,” Hushovd says.
“He has a big engine and obvious qualities against the clock, but we do not want to define him too narrowly. We believe he can become a strong and versatile rider, particularly in races where his power and time trial ability can make a difference.”
For Egholm, the move marks the beginning of an entirely new chapter.
“A whole new world is opening up for me, and a new way of life too. Together with Uno-X, I can approach it with peace of mind. I’m really hoping to prove myself, and I’m sure this is the right place for me to develop.”
